Q: What is HushCush?

The HushCush is a padded, slip on sleeve, worn on your forearm to create a soft, cushioned surface for baby to feed and rest. While you can enjoy the cushioned support for your arm during nursing, bottle feeding, soothing or cuddle times, the baby rests comfortably on a cloud. Your baby is held close, feeling content and secure in your loving arms.

Q: How does HushCush compare to a regular nursing pillow?

There is a big difference between the HushCush and a regular U shaped nursing pillow.

When using the HushCush, your baby is held close in your arms, feeling comfortable and secure. Baby's head, neck and back are well supported throughout the feeding and remain in alignment for healthy latch. Baby's head is supported higher than tummy to aid digestion and may reduce reflux.

Unlike a regular nursing pillows, the baby is placed on the pillow rather than your arms. It doesn't always stay around mum's waist and therefore hinders the ability from getting the baby in a good breastfeeding position for healthy latch and satisfying feeding. The baby can slip in or away during feed which can be often challenging and painful for the mother and cause frustration for the baby...

Another drawback of the nursing pillows is that their size makes them difficult to transport. Because there are a large number of items that must be transported with the baby, it is not always feasible to add a large nursing pillow to the pile.

HushCush comes with a waterproof cover and removable strap for easy transport. The gap in the centre is great for keeping in nursing cover or muslin cloth, creating more room in mum's bag.

Q: Beneficial for dads?

What babies love is time with mum and dad. Using the HushCush can help promote lasting relationship between the infant and Dad. That can be enhanced by physical closeness such as cuddles, bottle feeding, soothing or eye-to-eye contact. Experiencing that close connection, along with father's scent, is both soothing and calming. Tending to your baby's needs in a prompt, comforting and consistent manner is essential in developing trust, empathy and lasting bonds.

Q: What about skin contact?

Breastfeeding is the ultimate in skin to skin contact. Experiencing that close connection, along with mother’s scent, is both soothing and calming for a newborn. Frequent feedings, however, can cause strain for mother, causing physical symptoms to sometimes result. Constant shifting of positions can cause baby to become restless and interrupts the feeding process. Mothers deserve to be comfortable too!

Q: Is it just for breastfeeding?

The HushCush can be used when nursing or bottle feeding. There are many reasons when it may not be possible to breastfeed your baby. However, whether you’re breastfeeding or bottle feeding, or when baby is in the care of others, it is most important that feeding sessions are satisfying and successful. When babies feed well, they sleep better and they’re generally calmer and less agitated. The HushCush provides cushioned comfort for the baby, as well as the caregiver.

Q: How does the HushCush help to calm a baby?

New parents need help learning what it takes to calm a crying infant. Sometimes all it takes is changing the baby to a new position. The padded surface enables the baby facing you and to lay on his side while still being held and rocked. Relieving frustration for the parent and baby is what results. During crying spells, it's important for caregivers to remain confident and in control. Stress and tension can exacerbate the situation which make matters worse. Infants thrive on cuddles a feeling of security. The HushCush is a wonderful tool that becomes a link to comfort and soothing.

Q: Away from home?

Traveling with an infant can sometimes be very stressful. Air travel, or new unfamiliar environment, can be especially difficult. That’s when your arms become the only source of comfort for your baby. With the HushCush within your reach, arms are once again the most comfortable place for your baby to be. It's small, compact design makes it highly portable and easy to take everywhere!

Q:Separation anxiety?
